Earlier this month, hundreds of MIIS graduate students in the Translation and Localization Management (TLM) and Translation & Interpretation (TI) programs gathered at the Monterey Marriott Hotel to attend a career fair – the first in-person one MIIS has seen since before the pandemic! Although the in-person experience was new to many, students were able to network through visiting booths from a variety of companies, including big industry players such as TransPerfect and RWS, smaller Bay Area LSPs such as MediaLocate and Idem Translations, all the way to government agencies such as the CIA and US Department of State.
To mark the occasion, our illustrator Yifan Ren has drawn a cartoon inspired by the networking that took place at this first in-person MIIS career fair since 2020:
