In such an interconnected industry that relies so much on the actions of others, we as localizers will always be interacting with stakeholders. By definition, a stakeholder is someone who has an interest or investment in a project, and many impact projects positively to help move things forward. However, sometimes, stakeholders turn problematic and display certain types of behaviors that can sour a healthy relationship or a healthy work environment. There are certain techniques to manage stakeholders when this happens, and below we’ve visualized this by drawing two kinds of problematic stakeholders that we may encounter in the localization industry:
